Me and my blog just want to wish all of my readers a Happy New Year, hoping that you leave behind a year of dreams-turn-reality, and that this new year will bring new adventures, challenges and happiness. Personally, I will begin the year really ill with the flu, but hopefully that’s a sign that the rest of the year will be better!
Hi people! Normally I wouldn’t post something like this on my blog, but I thought a lot of people might be quite busy with their holiday celebration to take notice of the fact that 162 people very recently disappeared between Indonesia and Singapore last Sunday. It is tragic, especially around these times of celebration when people expect to be with their families. As an avid traveller and a past customer of AirAsia (twice from Hong Kong to Thailand), it is difficult news to read and hear about when people go missing and are eventually found among floating wreckage, in which state AirAsia flight QZ8501 and its passengers were found in today.
Hi everybody! I hope you have a good Christmas holiday with whoever or wherever you are! Here comes a select collection of all photos from when I was in Rio, just before returning to The Netherlands. As I already wrote a lot priorly, I’ll keep this post for just photos (do check out captions though!). The photos albums are divided into four sections: Christ the Redeemer, Copacabana and Ipanema, Sugarloaf Mountain, and last day+flight home.
Hi and Merry Christmas! (Tradução abaixo.) Indeed, I’m no longer in Brazil for this year, but in The Netherlands, where I used to live for a long time. My family is still here, and I’ll be celebrating Christmas with them and some others. Unfortunately there is no snow, so it’ll have to be an “I’m dreaming of a White Christmas”. As I know most of you have other things to do today, I’ll end it here with a video of my first Christmas, which was in Hong Kong back when I still spoke Chinese! (Ps. you have no idea how weird it is hearing yourself speak a language you can’t understand anymore!)
Hi from Copacabana in Rio! Merry almost-Christmas! I’ll post more photos from here later, since I’m not at home yet and have a lot to edit. Anyway, it’s been a good and awesome four days here in this incredible city. Almost Merry Christmas everyone! I’ll keep this short. Here is a video and some photos I shot from a Christmas Cantata at my university campus last Sunday. Apart from really crowded and cramped, it was very nice, as the stuff below hopefully will be able to convey!
Hi all! (tradução abaixo)
So… where should I start? Maybe the title? And no, I haven’t been kidnapped, but I’ll explain in a moment! Firstly, today marks my first day of holiday… kind of. I still have one more programming assignment to do and hand in, but no more lessons, no more tests, and no more obligation to go to campus this year! It’s been a few crazy end-of-year weeks lately, and I’ve barely had any sleep, fun or time to remember how to breathe. Up in the morning 7-8, home 18-19 o’clock, study and work until 2am.
It may seem a little odd with all the non-Brazilian posts lately, but as Christmas is drawing near, I’m mentally preparing for a reverse culture-shock in Europe. Okay, maybe not that dramatic, but I look forward to getting there just in time for the holidays! Continue reading “Happy 97th Independence Day, Finland!”
Hi everybody! Olá todo mundo! (tradução abaixo)
Happy Sinterklaas! Yes, I know what you might be thinking.. “What’s Sinterklaas?” Maybe if I say “Santa Claus”, that it might sound more familiar? Sinterklaas is the original Santa, brought to the US by the Dutch! Continue reading “Happy Sinterklaas! | Feliz Sinterklaas!”
